Lane maintains a general tax practice with an emphasis on tax litigation. He regularly represents clients in disputes with Canada Revenue Agency and Service Canada over assessments of income tax, GST, CPP, EI and OAS. He assists clients at all stages of the tax litigation process, from the CRA Audit Division to the Tax Court of Canada. He also assists with provincial tax and resource royalty assessments, voluntary disclosures, taxpayer relief applications, employee/independent contractor disputes, director’s liability assessments, evasion charges, rectification applications, compliance and filing issues, and tax planning. He is also a certified Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) and maintains a comprehensive Wills & Estates practice, including estate planning, administration, and litigation.
Lane originally joined Cuelenaere in 2014. From 2016-2019, he practiced in the tax department of a major Western Canadian law firm.
